AnyDesk is a popular multi-platform remote desktop program. It is a lighter and simpler alternative to the bulky TeamViewer or SplashTop. The application is distributed by AnyDesk Software GmbH. It can also be used for file transferring and offers VPN functionality.
Why Is It Better Than Others
Unlike its rivals, AnyDesk uses a new video codec that is specifically designed for new graphical user interfaces, so it runs very smoothly and uses less bandwidth when connected.
AnyDesk software is versatile, secure, and, most importantly, lightweight — the application is just over 1MB in size, with no administrative privileges or installation required. The software uses TLS1.2 encryption, and both ends of the connection are cryptographically secure and verified so that users can be confident that the connection is secure.
It is very simple and easy to navigate — you can understand the interface in just a couple of minutes. With AnyDesk, users can work on their personal computers from anywhere. Before connecting, you need to create an account, and through your personal AnyDesk-ID, connect to a remote desktop with all your applications, documents and photos.
Since the program is shareware, it is not easy to deal with the settings, as there is always a chance to run into paid services. For example, the Address Book is available here only in a paid subscription. The device name can be changed only once. The paid services change over time, so keep an eye out. In addition, once logging into the computer, past sessions are displayed in the history list. You don't even need to memorize.
Remote Connectivity for the Host Computer
AnyDesk provides access to all screens of a remote computer if multiple monitors are connected to the latter. Switching between screens is carried out using buttons with corresponding numbers of monitors. For faster file transfer, you can use the AnyDesk file manager.
Possible remote session operations initiated by the controlling computer include sending the Ctrl + Alt + Del key combination, rebooting the remote computer, taking a screenshot, switching sides (enabling the reverse direction of remote access), etc.
AnyDesk is a solid competitor for the most popular remote control application title. You can customize the window of the active session to suit the perception of the remote computer screen that is convenient for you, indicate the ratio of image quality and performance, select the type of cursor display, and so on.
